  • I can't disagree with you at all. Donating furniture and larger items should be a lot easier than it is. I can't speak for New York, but in Georgia, we've always had to take our furniture to Goodwill or Salvation Army drop-off locations ourselves. It took some extra time and renting a truck, but it was worth it knowing that the pieces wouldn't end up in a landfill. We also ask around to friends and family to see if they need any of the items we're getting rid of.
  • Given the variety of options in every city, there should be a nationwide resource. I spoke to Andrew Johnston when putting this together, and he developed a terrific start. The truth is, excellent options for recycling and donations exist in every city, the trick is organizing them all in an intuitive way.
  • Donate the car, that help the people
who were need the help here donate furniture also donate old cars
  • You should do some research there first though. Some of the contractors that handle charities' vehicle donation programs keep most of the proceeds. Also, remember that you're responsible for the change of registration. Otherwise, you could end up stuck with someone else's parking tickets.
  • Good thing that those items were still in good condition.
